Happy Birthday for SUNDAY STAMPS

Hello again....SUNDAY STAMPS has a new color challenge up on the blog today. I am excited to see how you all interpret it! The colors are bold and bright and even a little exotic! I live in Florida and we have Peacock's that just roam around freely. Sometimes people purposefully get them, but a lot of times they just show up and beautify the scenery!
Color inspiration below...

Here is my card...

I was wanting to use another purple color but it didn't arrive in time. But Perfect Plum is still pretty!

Loves the dies from Springtime Impressions. They look great colored in like I did or used solid in a monochromatic theme. Looking forward to seeing what you create and post on the SS blog! The DT ladies have made some beauties...please be sure to stop by their blogs and check things out!

Til next time...

For FRESHLY MADE SKETCHES

Hi! This is my second post of the day and this time it's for FRESHLY MADE SKETCHES. I was trying to figure out what I was going use for the focal. I couldn't find an image in the size I wanted, so I used some very pretty paper and focused on the color combo instead. Below is the sketch...

Here is my interpretation...

Usually I choose light and bright for birthdays but the black base adds a little drama for the colors I think. I even used black sequins...

Well that's  it for now.  Thanks for stopping by and seeing what's new. See you next time...

Sailing Home for TTOT

Hello again and welcome. Hope you had a wonderful 4th of July with friends and family. I am also very blessed to have today off which gives me a 4 day weekend off! So I have been trying to post this card for TTOT and finally have a moment before this challenge ends. These layered shape challenges are a little challenging for me that I can find mine a little flat and not very interesting BUT!!...that's  why I like to join in and stretch my comfort zone! Also seeing how others interpret the sketch is so fun! This challenge also has a Summer Fun twist. So I used water and boating as my summer fun. I love a pool or going to the springs in the summer and sometimes tagging along on a friends boat for the afternoon ;)

Below is the challenge sketch...

Here is my card using the SAILING HOME set...

I used a wave EF and watercolored some backgrounds and splattered some champagne mist metallic ink for the sparkle you see on the water as the sun shines on it, though the camera didn't pick it up well. Colors I used were: SKY BLUE, DAFFODIL DELIGHT & GRAPEFRUIT GROVE.

Thanks for stopping by and having a look. Have a great weekend and hope you can doing a little crafting yourself :)

Amazing You for SUNDAY STAMPS

Hello again. There is a new color challenge on the SUNDAY STAMPS blog today. I was waiting for a new stamp set to come in that I wanted to use it with these colors. It never made it in time so I had to go to plan B. I ended up using the Summer Silhouette set. It's an oldie, but still a favorite of mine. Below is the summery inspiration photo:

And here is my card:

I was going to just layer the floral focal in red on top of the Crumb Cake base, but needed to add some interest so decided to frame the image and bump it up for dimension. I also spilled out some of the little navy flowers like they were blowing in a summery breeze.

Be sure to stop by the DT ladies blogs and see the very pretty creations they made this challenge.

Showers of Blessings,
Melissa

Birthday Wishes for RETRO RUBBER CHALLENGE

Hello and welcome! This post is for the RETRO RUBBER CHALLENGE #112. It's an  embellishment challenge for us to use Buttons or Bows on our cards!  And...I am the Guest Designer for this challenge...Yay!! Thank you Ladies for inviting me to join in with you all! Below is the challenge inspiration photo:

Here is my card:

I still love this set and should probably use it more. It's from Stampin Up and it's call Petal Potpourri. This set came came out about 2015 and has a matching punch. I also used the Buffalo Check background check from Stampin Up from 2018 I believe. I was going to layer with solid green, but thought the check added some interest and dimension. I chose bright colors on crisp white so they would pop!(Lemon Lime Twist, Flirty Flamingo & Grapefruit Grove) Then I added the buttons to the middle of my flowers and my card was done!

Thanks for coming by and checking things out. Please stop by the blogs of the Retro Rubber Design Team Ladies and check out the lovelies they created. Hope to see you in the gallery...
