Wedding Wishes

I love weddings! When I worked as a Floral Designer, that was my favorite kind of work. I haven't been to one in a few years but I have one next month and I'm looking forward to going with friends. So my card entry is for Try Stampin on Tuesday with a wedding theme. I liked the sketch and wanted to use that for the design of the card.

I liked the half circle cut out and used a rose image to peek out from around it. I am not a real ribbon or bow person, but it seemed like the right material  to use for the vertical strip.

The embossing folder looks like lace and of course I added wedding tradition...pearls.

Thanks for stopping by, please leave a comment and let me know what you think...

Bye for now,

From the Heart

Thank you everyone who joined in our 200th celebration at SUNDAY STAMPS!  We had a lot of entries and we had our blog candy winners. My winner is Golly! Golly, please contact me with your address and I will get your prize out to you and Congratulations! Ok, now onto our next challenge which is a soft springy color challenge. Below is the inspiration...

The colors are so soft I wanted  my card to reflect that. I used the Serene Garden set. I die embossed the lower left of the card so it softly mimicked the stamped image. Colors used are: Coastal Cabana, Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight, and Perfect  Plum. I didn't stamp on colored cardstock or color in the images - I did at first, but it was too much color and lost the wispy, barely there look I was going for. The sentiment is from Petal Palette. And then of course I HAD to add some sequins...

Have a great day,

HB for AAA Cards

Hi there and welcome. This post is my first card entry for AAA Cards #136. I have never played along with them but I was cruising IG and spotted a card entry for this challenge and thought I would give it a go! This challenge is for "One Image" plus Optional Twist: SPRING

I love CAS, really I do. I just have a hard time keeping it simple without being boring...So I chose a single Fern frond in Green. I love all the Spring flowers this time of year but what I notice first is everything starts to get Green even before the flowers begin to bloom...So here is my card...

I have some beautiful green enamel dots that would be perfect for this but!...I used self control and kept it very simple, clean and green ;)

Thanks so much for stopping by...Please feel free to leave a comment and tell me what you think!

Hugs,
Melissa

For Retro Rubber Challenge #106

Welcome! This post is for RETRO RUBBER CHALLENGE #106 Mad About Stripes. When I saw the inspiration picture, I knew which older stamp set I wanted to use. Below is the photo :

I used Painted Petals from SU! from 2015. The stripe panel made a nice background for the trailing flowers. The sentiment is one of my favorites! Colors used are: Pacific Point, Crumb Cake & Old Olive.

Thanks for stopping by. Please stop by again soon!

Hugs,
Melissa

Rustic Rooster for SUNDAY STAMPS 200th

Hello and welcome! I am so excited you are here! This post is extra special for SUNDAY STAMPS
because it's our 200th challenge! So to celebrate this milestone we are having giveaways on each of the Design Team members blogs! Monika's drawing is for international entires, so if you live outside the US comment on her blog, all others are for inside the US. So before I get to my giveaway, let's take a look at the 200th sketch by our own Monika. Sketch below...

This sketch is great! You can interpret it in so many ways. Wait til you see what the other Design Team Ladies came up with, they are lovely and each unique. My take is below...

Here's my Rustic Rooster! Love this set from Stamp Up called Home to Roost. I stamped the foliage and rooster, die cut with a stitched rectangle then ran it through a paper roller to corrugate and give it a rustic country look. I didn't divide the two panels evenly on purpose and also added an extra layer for a more rustic look. So now let's get to the give away...

It's a brand new Paper Pumpkin bundle. Bundle includes materials to make 10 masculine cards including envelopes, a stamp set, and a total of 3 Stampin Spots. All you need to do is leave a comment here on my blog and you will be entered for the drawing. The sketch challenge will end on March 22, 2019 @ 6pm EST. Winners will announced on March 23, 2019 with our Top Picks. So make sure to head back to Sunday Stamps and see if you're one of the winners.

Remember to stop by the other Design Team members blogs and leave a comment to be entered into a random drawing. Remember: Monika will be for an international winner, all others will be for inside US. Below are links to the other Design Team members blogs...Happy Commenting and Thank You for helping us hit 200!

No special Reason for FMS

Hello and welcome. This card is for the FRESHLY MADE SKETCHES challenge  # 377 by Narelle. She is a wonderful card designer who's layered lovelies I do admire! Below is the layered sketch by Narelle :

I used multiple sets and dies for my card. I had an idea of what I wanted to do, I just had a time trying to get the layers and elements right. When I finished I wasn't  impressed! 😣 But after I photographed it...it ended up being ok.

I used quite a few sets to come up with this simple card. The base is Gray Granite & DSP Woodgrain paper.  Stamps and dies used: Butterfly Basics, Pop of Paradise, Special Reason and By the Tide. I really didn't know what sentiment to use so I placed this one but...might end up changing it...

But anyway, thanks for stopping by and checking things out. See you next time...

Blessings,
Melissa

On Your Special Day...

This card and posting is for a double sketch challenge! Try Stampin on Tuesday and Retro Rubber Challenge  have teamed up and are sharing the same sketch! To join in, just post on both blogs. Below is the sketch:

I used the new Grapefruit Grove and paired that with white and black.  The stamps are World of Dreams (2014), still one of my favs and the sentiment is from Bontanicals from You (2016). The embossing folder is Vine Street (2013) SU!

Well thanks for stopping by and checking things out. Have a great day !
