It's Your Day, Dad for Sunday Stamps

Hello and Happy Sunday! My card this time is for a new color challenge we have over at SUNDAY STAMPS.  I had to play around with a few different ideas before I settled on the image I would use. The inspiration photo is below:

Here is my card:

I used the Wetlands set. It's my go to for a masculine card. I thought the colors worked great with it. I don't need or use a lot of masculine cards so I left the sentiment neutral so I could go with either Father's Day or Birthday and be more specific inside the card.

Thank you so much for stopping by. Please stop by the other Ladies blogs on the team and check out their creations. I think we have quite the mix this challenge and I hope it inspires you to join us. See you in the gallery...

Blessings,
Melissa

Thinking of You for SUNDAY STAMPS

Hello and glad you stopped by. This card is for the new sketch challenge at SUNDAY STAMPS. This fun sketch is by our own Lisa! Take a look at the sketch below and let your creativity flow!

I made a couple  of cards for the sketch. One was layered and the other a single layer card. I went  with the single layer. I really appreciate beautiful single layer cards. There are a lot of wonderful card makers on Instagram who color and watercolor one layer with so much dimension. I on the other hand am still practicing ;). So I stamped my image using Sheltering Tree and was happy with it but, it was missing something. So I decided to use an embossing folder to add dimension. I love the SU! Subtle folder but I have been using it a lot lately but still needed some texture. Then I thought go BIG with the texture! So I decided on Tin Tile. I really like how it turned out...my card is below. ..

I do really like the bold texture and simple image together. I think I'll play around with my other folders and see what other combos will work together. So whether you interpret the sketch with layers or keep it more simple with a single layer card I am looking forward to seeing you in the gallery. Also, checkout the other SUNDAY STAMPS DT ladies and their creations. Have a great day and see you soon...

You are Wonderful!

I have been so busy lately like so many of you that I just haven't had a chance to join in any card challenges lately. So in between my do list, I sat down and made a card for Try Stampin on Tuesday  It's a fun little sketch and I wanted to use the Rooted In Nature set. Below is the sketch:

Sweet sketch to make a lovely layered card with. I kept my card neutral with a nature feel. This one of my favorite sentiments and since I bumped up the oval with dimensionals, I can always change the sentiment if I needed a card in a hurry. Below  is my card:

Thanks for stopping by. I do need to get back to my to do list...but glad I could spend a few minutes at the craft table. See you next time.
