Birthday Wishes for Sunday Stamps

Hello and welcome! Sunday Stamps new challenge is a fun one!  I am excited to see what you will come up. Below is the sketch...

Sweet sketch right? I used my other current favorite set ❤❤❤ Sailing Home.  My card is below...

The Night of Navy & Crumb Cake look great together on the Soft Ivory and I added a touch of Smokey Slate. For the 3 elements I balanced the center anchor with the nautical ropes and used the matching DSP for the panel. Well that is my card and I hope you head over to the other DT blogs and checkout their lovelies...

Thanks for stopping in...

Congratulations for FMS

This is my second post of the day and it's for Freshly Made Sketches #398. It's a very different sketch and love the many ways it can be interpreted. Below is the sketch...

Pretty great sketch right? I decided to go with heat embossing instead of stamping. I did hand color the flowers a little but I think the metallic gold against the white with just a touch of color was just enough. My card is below...

Petal Palette worked perfectly for this sketch. The speckled splash for the brushstrokes and the floral spray for the focal. Colors used are Sweet Sugarplum and Soft Seafoam. Well that's it for now. Thanks for stopping in and taking a look...
Have a great day...

ENJOY TODAY for TTOT

Hello and welcome...this post is for the sketch challange over at Try Stampin on Tuesday #417. I just think the sketch is so fun and the DT team did a great job with their interpretations. Below is the sketch:

Here is my card:

I used the smaller image from the Morning Mist Magnolia from SU! One of my new favorite sets.
I did watercolor them and the background for some interest. Colors used for watercoloring are: Flirty Flamingo, Balmy Blue, Old Olive and Soft Suede. I walked by a pile of metallic papers in my craft-room and decided I would use one of them to frame the watercolor panels. I chose the matte gold. I carefully spaced the panels on the base, added the magnolia flowers which I bumped up with dimensionals and randomly placed the water droplets on the panels. I like the sentiment from the same set...you can use it for a birthday or for a friend just to let them know you are thinking of them.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek. I am hoping to post a few
more things today while I have the time...

Happy Crafting...

FRIEND for TTOT #416

Hi...I just received the new Good Morning Magnolia bundle and I wanted to play around with it. I decided to play along with TTOT #416 sketch and use the Christmas option. I was using another set and the card just wasn't coming together. So I pulled out the magnolia set and stamped the large flower in Memento Black to color it in, and it hit me...Black & White! So that is the direction I went and added a little Soft Sky for a soft accent. Below is the sketch...

I need to practice my coloring more...so my first card using the magnolia set came together pretty quickly without coloring it in. I'm imaging the same look with different color combos; Navy & White, Pink & Gray...

So glad you stopped by.
See you soon...
Melissa

Happy Birthday for SUNDAY STAMPS

Hello again....SUNDAY STAMPS has a new color challenge up on the blog today. I am excited to see how you all interpret it! The colors are bold and bright and even a little exotic! I live in Florida and we have Peacock's that just roam around freely. Sometimes people purposefully get them, but a lot of times they just show up and beautify the scenery!
Color inspiration below...

Here is my card...

I was wanting to use another purple color but it didn't arrive in time. But Perfect Plum is still pretty!

Loves the dies from Springtime Impressions. They look great colored in like I did or used solid in a monochromatic theme. Looking forward to seeing what you create and post on the SS blog! The DT ladies have made some beauties...please be sure to stop by their blogs and check things out!

Til next time...

For FRESHLY MADE SKETCHES

Hi! This is my second post of the day and this time it's for FRESHLY MADE SKETCHES. I was trying to figure out what I was going use for the focal. I couldn't find an image in the size I wanted, so I used some very pretty paper and focused on the color combo instead. Below is the sketch...

Here is my interpretation...

Usually I choose light and bright for birthdays but the black base adds a little drama for the colors I think. I even used black sequins...

Well that's  it for now.  Thanks for stopping by and seeing what's new. See you next time...

Sailing Home for TTOT

Hello again and welcome. Hope you had a wonderful 4th of July with friends and family. I am also very blessed to have today off which gives me a 4 day weekend off! So I have been trying to post this card for TTOT and finally have a moment before this challenge ends. These layered shape challenges are a little challenging for me that I can find mine a little flat and not very interesting BUT!!...that's  why I like to join in and stretch my comfort zone! Also seeing how others interpret the sketch is so fun! This challenge also has a Summer Fun twist. So I used water and boating as my summer fun. I love a pool or going to the springs in the summer and sometimes tagging along on a friends boat for the afternoon ;)

Below is the challenge sketch...

Here is my card using the SAILING HOME set...

I used a wave EF and watercolored some backgrounds and splattered some champagne mist metallic ink for the sparkle you see on the water as the sun shines on it, though the camera didn't pick it up well. Colors I used were: SKY BLUE, DAFFODIL DELIGHT & GRAPEFRUIT GROVE.

Thanks for stopping by and having a look. Have a great weekend and hope you can doing a little crafting yourself :)
