Another Happy Birthday...

Hello again! As my title for this post states I have made another birthday card! I use many throughout the year and it's the #1 card I am asked to make. So while I still have a little time before I head back to work, I want to add as many to my extras as I can.  I used the layout from FRESHLY MADE SKETCHES # 428. The sketch is below...

This is the first chance I've had to play around with the new HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU set. I colored the image with Prisma pencils which gave it sort of a whimsy look. I laid that on top of a floating circle of blush vellum and then that layer on top of an embossing folder that reminded me of frosting...yum!

I splattered a little metallic paint for shine and in place of sequins which tends to be my embellishment of choice. I also added champagne rhinestones in the center of the flowers.

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a look. Stop by again sometime...

Make something pretty today...

Enjoy

This post is for Color Throwdown #585. I love the color combo and with more down time lately, I thought I would do a few more challenges to pass time and just have fun! I think this might be my first time entering their challenge! I have been a fan for years but either didn't have the time due to my schedule or missed the cut off time...but I'm here now! Yay!

See the color inspiration below:

I started by softening the background to give it a soft watery feel. Calypso Coral, Island Indigo & Old Olive were my colors of choice. The stamp set called Koi Dreams I won a few years ago when I went to a stamp party and it's from Fun Stampers Journey.

I stamped the flowers and foliage and fussy cut them so I could bump them up to appear like they were growing over the water and the fish swimming below.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look. Please stay safe and well. Enjoy the extra time to spend with family and be a little more creative. Maybe even send out a few more cards to encourage those around us....

Stay creative!

Happy Easter

Hello and welcome. It's Sunday and for most of us, our schedule and lifestyles have taken a dramatic turn from what we have known. I want to encourage you to stay strong and hopefully this will pass quickly and we can return to better times with friends and those we love and want to spend time with.

Since it's Sunday, I am posting a card for the new color challenge over at SUNDAY STAMPS blog.
The seasonal inspiration photo below is fresh and fun! I hope you feel inspired to join in so the Design Team can see how you used the colors.

Here is my card...

I choose to make a one layer card with these colors. I like to visit other card makers blogs and study how they create single layer cards and how they give them movement make them interesting using only a folded piece of cardstock!

The image is from Painted Poppies and the sentiment is from Easter Message. I used the layout from the most recent Freshly Made Sketches # 427 challenge and I'm submitting to that challenge also.

Thank you again so much for stopping buy. I look forward to seeing how you used the colors and
what you create. I think making and creating things right now can help us pass time and keep us occupied and we also have something we can send to encourage our friends and family.

May the message and meaning of Easter
help bring comfort to you...

Nature's Wonders

Hello and  welcome. I wasn't sure what directions I was going to take when I saw the sketch for Retro Rubber Challenge # 130. Then I remembered I have several sets of images with a squarish shape and thought one of these could work for the challenge...

Here is the Sketch...

RRCB 130

Here is my card...

I used the Nature's Wonders set from 2002. It's on wood! This has always been one off my favs. I have used it to make black and white, beige neutrals, jewel tones and monochromatic cards.Great set.

The images needed to be smaller so I punched them out and layered them on a stitched square. The sentiment is from the Butterfly Basics set. I always need birthday cards and this one will be added to my stash. Thanks for stopping by...

Take care and be safe!

For FMS # 426

Hi there. Just taking a little get away time with all that is going on to make some cards for my stash and to give away. Our local nursing homes are asking for cards to be send to residents to let them know we are thinking of them while we are waiting for this to pass and they are not receiving visitors. I plan on making some over the next few days and get them in the mail. After all, that's why we are card makers right, to brightens someone's day! This card is for the FMS # 426 challenge.

Here's the sketch:

I used images from Waterfront and the sentiment is from Seasoned with Kindness. I also used a wave embossing folder to back the palm tree image.

This is a good neutral card to have on hand. I will add it to my stash and keep on with my paper therapy!

Take care and be Blessed,
Melissa

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Hello and welcome. My card for this post is for is for our new sketch challenge over on the
SUNDAY STAMPS blog. The sketch is from Heather this round and hope you will find inspiration and join in. Below is the sketch:

And here is my cared:

My main colors are Pool Party and Flirty Flamingo. I think these two pair together nicely. The stamp and die set are Lovely Lily Pad. The matching DSP is so pretty with the impressionist style painting.

Well thanks so much for stopping by and taking a look. Please stop by the other DT blogs and see how they used the sketch. Hope to see you in the gallery!

Have a GREAT day!
