Hello and Happy Tuesday! It's time for another challenge over at Try A Sketch on Tuesday. See the fun image below...
This is a fun layered sketch and I had fun with this one. Masculine cards can sometimes be challenging. It's easy to make pretty floral cards and add lots of embellishments but for a male, I really have to put a little more thought into the design of it. I have a few what I call masculine stamp sets and this is one of them. It's called Wetlands. I love the sketched look of the images and the sentiments. I only wish it had a father's day sentiment.
I normally have to print off sentiments I don't have sets for and this occasion is one of them but, I have more freedom to adjust the font and size and that is nice. I stenciled the base of the card instead of using a DSP and that really helped pull this card together. All I used was papers to get this textured layered card to come together.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you will stop by the other DT blogs and get more inspiration and join in for challenge #672!

What a great image and love the stamping of cattails or plant life over the edge of the focal point to expand on a scene... beautifully done. Excellent interpretation of the sketch and handsome masculine card. You have met Thing 1 Double Trouble's 3-2-1 recipe and would love you to share.
ReplyDeleteGreat masculine card, Melissa! I have used this stamp set over the years to create cards, and I will never part with it. Beautiful scene.
