Welcome! This card is for a lovely sketch challenge from the Try A Sketch on Tuesday blog. See the sketch below...
I kept the card clean and simple and substituted the circle for a square. I felt it worked better with the round snowflakes. I color blended with blue and purple inks and splattered with water to lightly remove and leave a mottled look. I then splattered with white paint for more layers. I dry embossed a tree design and carefully diagonal cut the corners to follow along with the sketch. I splattered a little purple to add a little more color. I die cut the snowflakes in metallic silver paper to go with the cool colors used for the square.
The Merry & Bright is stamped in a very dark blackberry and it seemed to photograph like it is black. A few rhinestones placed around and this card is done for the DT over at TSOT. Thanks for stopping by. I hope you will join in with us for this challenge. Bye for now...
Melissa
Love the pop of color on your white background with the center tree embossing... great blending of focal point. Gorgeous card. You have met our Sister Challenges at Double Trouble "Lotsa Delicious Layers" and would love you to enter your card and be eligible for our random drawing. Hope to see you there.
ReplyDeleteGreat adaptation of our sketch, Melissa, and gorgeous color and sparkle. I love that you thought outside the box to create the angled corners.
