Peaceful Boughs for SUNDAY STAMPS

Hello and welcome. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and had time to spend with family and friends. I have a few days off from work and I'm going to try and make the most out of them and get ready for the new year. I am starting my list of things I'd like to do or get accomplished throughout 2020. I'm not one for New Year resolutions, but I am about starting fresh with the new year!

So on with my posting...this card is for the new color challenge at the SUNDAY STAMPS BLOG.
Take a look at the color inspiration photo below:

Wow...talk about a challenge! I love how these challenges can stretch you as creator and maybe sometimes move you into a direction you haven't been or give you that little push to try something new. The challenge for me was to not make it drab and boring! My husband gave me the Peaceful Boughs for Christmas (thanks to the suggestion of my friend and SU! Demo Buddy).

I used Crumb Cake, Black, Granite Gray & White.  I used Vellum to heat emboss the boughs in white and laid that on top of the black which gave it Smokey Gray look so I'm counting that as one of my colors ;)

I also found my Vera Mark marker and added snow to the Pine Cones and on the sentiment sign. I think the Crumb Cake warms it up and I love the Juniper sprigs in frosty white. Now, since I made the card, the Vellum has started to bow and wave so I'm going to attempt removing it with heat from a blow dryer and reapplying with an all over application of Tombow glue.

So the removal worked pretty well, you can only see a little swirling from the glue. I think if I would have watered down the glue some, it would have looked better. It lays flatter and I'm happy with that!

Thanks so much for stopping by, glad you did. Head over to the Sunday Stamps blog to see what the rest of the Design Team created...they are quite pretty...

Stop by again soon...

Happy New Year!
Melissa
