For Retro Rubber Challenge

This post is for the RETRO RUBBER CHALLENGE #132 and I have been invited as a Guest Designer! I love the Retro Rubber Challenge. It's a wonderful way to re-ink our older friends who were at one time the latest and greatest. I reorganized my stamp sets in January and found some sets I forgot I had. Many of which I thought will be great to enter on RRC. Including the one I used for this challenge. The inspiration photo is below. The challenge is to use a square(s) or make your card a square!

Earlier this year when I was organizing my craft room, I ran across this set from Stampin Up called Wildflower Meadow. It was in the Stampin Up 2013-2014 Annual Catalog. It has a matching embossing folder and I forgot how simple & pretty this set is. I need a birthday card for a friend who has a birthday in a few days and this is perfect and I added a little cottage touch with the DSP.

I made my card a 5 1/4 x 5 1/4 inch square. I also found my butterfly Embosslit folder...remember those??? I liked the butterflies with the wildflowers and used the sentiment from Beautiful Day.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look. I hope you will pull out an older set and show it some love and play along with us...

See you later,
Melissa

  1. Hello Melissa and thank you for being our Guest Designer at RETRO RUBBER this time around.
I love your card, the embossing folder matches this stamp perfectly, the colors of the flowers are beautiful and so Spring like, I can't wait to see some color in my own garden.
I don't remember this stamp and embossing folder so I went to Splitcoaststampers and found them, they are from the 2013-2014 catalog, I don't know how I missed them.
If you ever wonder when your Stampin' Up! sets were released, go to Splitcoaststampers and you'll find all of the Stampin' Up! stamp sets there, from the old to the new, in alphabetical order so you can find out the dates when they were released and it what catalog.
Anyway, thanks again for being our Guest Stamper, we hope you come back and play with us again next time.
    Stay healthy and safe.
    Sending hugs.

  3. Wow! So glad you could join us as GD for this challenge, Melissa. I've never seen this set before but isn't it lovely the way the embossing can be stamped on to give depth to the design? Gorgeous. It's so nice to see such bright, cheery colours just when we could all do with a lift.
